THE MANAGER'S HOUSE. TERMS OF BUSINESS (Apr 2018)
1. Welcome. Thank you for choosing to book The Manager's House. We look forward to welcoming you to Gratton.
2. Agreement. All bookings are direct with us the owners, Jane and Jonathan Snodgrass. When you make a reservation you are entering into an agreement with us. Please therefore read our Terms and Conditions below.
3. Access. We live in The (Old) Cheese Factory next door. We try to meet guests personally on arrival. If this is not possible we will ensure that you have access to The Manager's House (eg by giving you the code to a key safe on site). There will be comprehensive instructions in The Manager's House. If we are absent, we will arrange for a neighbour or friend to be 'on call'.
3. Arrival and Departure: Days and Timings. Bookings are normally 1500 hours Saturday to 1000 hours Saturday.
(NB. However, we would normally expect that a Christmas booking will be taken so that Christmas falls in the middle of the letting week ie the nights of 21 - 27 December and similarly for New Year ie the nights of 28 December - 3 January.)
We ask guests to arrive no earlier than 1500 hours and depart no later than 1000 hours to allow sufficient time for the house to be cleaned and prepared. If, however, you do need to arrive or depart at other times please do ask.
4. Short Breaks. Short breaks may be available:
2 nights @ 4/7 weekly rate
3 nights @ 5/7 weekly rate
4 nights @ 6/7 weekly rate
5 nights @ 7/7 weekly rate
However, short breaks would normally be within one week of Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks overlapping two normal weeks, including say a weekend break including Friday and Saturday nights, would usually only be considered in low season.
5. Charges. The charge per week is for self catering and is all inclusive, including: bedding and linen and towels etc; electricity and oil for heating and hot water; sensible quantities of solid fuel and logs for the solid fuel stove; and cleaning between bookings. There are no extras.
6. Discount. Bookings of two or more weeks will be given a discount of 5%.
7. Pets. We accept well behaved pets by prior arrangement. We make no extra charge for a dog. (We do, however, ask you to keep your dog downstairs only (a stair gate is provided) and off the furniture.)
8. Payments. We regret that we cannot take payments by card. However if you wish to pay by bank transfer please contact us for further details. We accept cheques and cash. Cheques should be made payable to J D and J C Snodgrass .
9. Booking and Deposit. Please notify us of your firm intention of making a booking; we can then hold those dates for you for sufficient time to allow you to send us a deposit. Our confirmation of receipt of a half the full cost of your booking followed by our notification of acceptance of the booking will secure the booking. We will then change the published availability of The Manager's House to reflect your booking. On booking you may also pay the charge in full in advance if you wish.
10. Balance. Any balance is to be paid before or on arrival.
11. Damage and Breakages. Please take care of our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages and damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur so that they can if possible be rectified prior to the arrival of the next guests. We do not normally charge for minor breakages. We may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.
12. Your Cancellation. In the event of your cancellation or non arrival, the deposit is not refundable, unless the period or part period is re-booked, when the deposit will be returned less any loss to us or expenses arising. Guests may therefore wish to consider taking out their own cancellation insurance.
13. Our Cancellation. In the event of the property not being available for any reason beyond our control, eg serious damage, we will give as much notice as possible and endeavour to find alternative accommodation locally of an equivalent and acceptable standard and price. If this is not possible or agreeable any deposit or full or part payment will be returned at the earliest possible time. Our liability will not extend beyond this refund.
14. No Smoking. Please note that The Manager’s House is a No Smoking property.
15. Liability. We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
16. Data. Any data collected during the course of a booking may be kept on computer.
